At a lofty 294m (964ft), Leith Hill is the highest point in the Home Counties and an absolute magnet for mtb'ers; as the number of tyre tracks will testify.
You can forget the hefty off-road vehicles usually associated with the Surrey stockbroker belt, though. This corner of leafy suburbia is a two-wheel paradise, and one that every discerning mountain bike rider should ride at some stage.
The going on this jaunt is incredibly varied, with some seriously steep drops; some long hard-packed climbs; a few rocky sections; and enough sinuous singletrack to put a smile on pretty much anyone's face.
Navigation can be tricky in places, however, and the best tracks aren't always easy to find if you're a newcomer. But if you follow this wicked little loop you won't go
far wrong.
