If you are looking for a lid on a budget, they don't come much better than the Raleigh Missile II. The spec is impressive, with a microshell over much of the EPS, a soft pad to protect your chin from the clip and a wheel for adjusting the universal headband. This also features a Dial-a-Light flashing LED for a bit of additional visibility on those dark commutes or when you are caught out after dusk. Of course ventilation isn't great and coverage on the back of the head was less than we'd like but you can spin this the other way — the reduced venting, flashing LED, decent microshell and £20 price make it a candidate for a spare winter helmet, especially if you have a £100 race lid you want to keep clean.
