FSA gains tech partner

FSA Orbit Xtreme

Tuesday 16th September 2008

Surprising as it may sound, bike bits are no longer made by men in flat caps hammering out shapes from glowing lumps of steel. No, it takes computers and lasers and high tech design programmes that my Grandad would have scoffed at as modern-day rubbish.

FSA have thankfully ignored Grandad's words and established an in-house design studio for the development of new products and the execution of technical trials, it says. The Italian componenent manufacturer has also enlisted the help of IT firm AMD, which will provide the technolog, software and equipment needed for the design studio.

Claudio Marra, FSA general manager, said: “I'm truly proud of the collaboration between AMD and F.S.A. I'm even happier that businesses outwith the world of cycling decide to invest effort and time into this sector, consequently also supporting sport on two wheels.”
